HUTCHINSON, KS- The Hutchinson High School Wall of Honor is looking for nominees. A nominee has to be a Hutchinson High School graduate and have graduated at least 10 years prior to the nomination. The nominee must have attained a high level of achievement in at least one of the following areas:

• Personal and/or professional life
• Community service
• Demonstrated that education is a life-long experience

How to nominate
Nomination forms can be picked up and returned to the Hutchinson High School office, 810 East 13th, between the hours of 8:00am and 3:20pm Monday through Friday. Nominations are due May 1st.

The nomination form requires basic biographical information, including lists of volunteer activities, special awards received and any supporting documentation, such as newspaper clippings. Additionally, the person making the nomination must write a paragraph explaining why the nominee deserves the honor. Those interested in making a nomination can print a form at home and return it to the HHS office. The form can be found here: https://5il.co/2hbi4

In keeping with tradition, the selection committee will pick three alumni to add to the wall this year. All nomination forms will be kept on file and eligible for two years. The three 2024 Wall of Honor alumni will be honored in a series of events surrounding the October 4th HHS homecoming football game. Honorees who live outside the immediate area will need to make their own travel and lodging plans. A plaque featuring each honoree will be placed on the Wall of Honor inside Hutchinson High School. Each honoree also receives a commemorative keepsake plaque.

Nominees will not be discriminated on the basis of race, creed, religion, sex, nationality, disability, economic or marital status. The award may be bestowed on individuals posthumously.

Recent Honorees
In September 2023, the group recognized three new honorees. Those were: Michael E. Gunther, Class of 1962, recognized for his service to the community; Peggy Thorne Childs, Class of 1967, for her service to education; and Bryan C. Miller, Class of 1997, for his leadership through coaching.

Each alumnus was recognized during the Wall of Honor banquet, fall 2023 Homecoming parade, and the varsity Homecoming football game pregame show.

“Hutchinson High School has a long list of outstanding alumni. We are eager to select the new honorees for the fall of 2024 for their contributions to education, community and so much more” says Marci Malashchuk, Hutchinson High School Alumni, Class of 1990.
