By Brenna Eller
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce the most recent recipient of the Classroom Hero Award presented by Heartland Credit Union.
Teresa Rush teaches fourth grade at Faris Elementary School and has been at the school for four years.
“Every day is different,” Rush said, when sharing her favorite part about teaching.
From the hugs and smiles she receives from her students to the experiences she has with them, there are many things that Rush said she loves about her job.
Each month, Ad Astra Radio honors a different educator, selected from community nominations, to receive the Classroom Hero Award, along with a “hero” gift basket, courtesy of community partners Heartland Credit Union, Midway Motors of Hutchinson, Stutzman’s Greenhouse, Hutch Putt and The Foto Cowboy.
Rush is from Saint John, Kan., and is also the sister of Dean Wade, former K-State basketball player and current NBA player for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“We’re really proud of him,” Rush said. “He’s doing big things.”
The Classroom Hero Award seeks to highlight the hard work and dedication of those on the front lines of our local schools. Nominations can be submitted at https://www.adastraradio.com/classroom-hero.
