A Hutchinson High School senior has been selected to the National Honor Choir for 2021.
Xavier Jameson, a recent graduate of Hutchinson High School, was selected for the National Honor Choir, a premiere choir through the National Association for Music Education. To audition for this group you have to be part of your all-state group the year before, and in Kansas that group is the Kansas Music Education Association. The audition process includes submitting a video of the applicant singing a selected song to NAFME. Applicants are then selected from submissions nationwide. Jameson was one of 11 Kansans selected to be a part of this premiere singing group for the 2020-2021 year. You can see the full roster of ensemble members here.
Xavier has been a member of the Hutchinson Vocal department all 4 years of high school. He was a part of The Expressives for 2 of those years. Xavier also participated in KSHSAA solo for 3 years, and was slated to participate for a fourth year, until COVID caused the event to be canceled. He also participated in KMEA for 4 years. He made district 3 of those years and state for 2, and has now added the National Honor Choir to his portfolio.

We are so proud of Jameson and all that he accomplished in the arts while he was a student at Hutchinson High School. We cannot wait to see where the future takes him post-graduation!
