USD 308 Announces Kindergarten Meet & Greet for 2025-2026 School Year
HUTCHINSON, KS- Hutchinson Public Schools is delighted to announce its upcoming Kindergarten Meet and Greet events, designed for incoming kindergarten students and their families!
There are two dates for the Kindergarten Meet & Greet events:
· Tuesday, April 22nd, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm
o Faris, Graber, Lincoln-McCandless, Morgan and Wiley Elementaries
· Thursday, April 24th, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
o Allen STEM Magnet School
If your child will turn 5 before August 31st, they are ready to embark on their exciting kindergarten journey this fall! This come and go event promises to be a wonderful opportunity for both seasoned Salthawk families and newcomers to the district alike to mingle and connect. There's no need to worry about paperwork or RSVPs—just bring your enthusiasm and be prepared for a delightful time! Kindergarten classroom teachers, building staff, and district staff will be onsite to provide tours and answer questions.
Families should plan to attend their neighborhood school on the 22nd, and attend the Allen event to learn more information or to apply. Allen STEM Magnet requires an application for admission whereas attendance for all other elementary schools is based off of the student’s home address. The district is proud to announce it once again received a grant from the Myrna B. Weeks Donor Advised fund through the Hutchinson Community Foundation. These funds will provide light refreshments for each school. In addition, each student to attend will receive a personalized kindergarten welcome bag including the book, “The Night Before Kindergarten” by Natasha Wing, a fun-filled summer skills booklet with hundreds of activities, and school supplies.
New start dates implemented this year
The District will implement a staggered start for all kindergarten students for all elementary schools. On August 19th, boys only will attend. On August 20th, girls only will attend. Online enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year will go live in July, with an in-person event mid-August. As in years past, the link to enroll will be sent to parents and guardians of all currently enrolled students as well as publicized on traditional media outlets and social media.
