Eligibility and Application
HOW DO I APPLY?
All applications must be completed in person.
To complete the application, you must bring:
•Age verification (birth certificate, hospital certificate, or medical card);
•OR Proof of Pregnancy (sonogram, test results, Dr. letter)
AND
•Proof of Income for the last calendar year or the previous 12 months (tax statement, 3 paycheck stubs, and documentation of child support, alimony, unemployment, Social Security
•OR proof of public assistance, homelessness, state place foster care

ELIGIBILITY
Prenatal women and children birth to 3 years old are eligible for Early Head Start home-based services. Those who qualify may be eligible for child care at Hutchinson High School. Head Start school day preschool services are available to children ages 3-5, not yet eligible for kindergarten (5 by August 31st of the school year). Families must live within Reno County Families must meet Federal Income Guidelines
Children are selected according to needs, not on a first come, first served basis.

Exceptions to the income guidelines listed above:
•TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families)
•SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
•Supplement Security Income
•Homeless according to the McKinney Vento Act
•Currently in state placed foster care
If your family exceeds the poverty guidelines, you may still be eligible for services.
All services are provided at no cost to families.
