Hutchinson Art Center Youth Classes

Join the Art Center for monthly opportunities for children ages 6 through 12 to create their own work of art!

We are celebrating the changing colors of fall with a vibrant foil monoprint Chameleon project! This engaging activity blends the art of printing with the fascinating world of chameleons.

Groups A and B will practice contour drawing their own unique chameleons – there are so many shapes, sizes and colors to choose from! Students will also delve into the process of foil Mono-printing, learning how to use washable markers to color a piece of foil, which will then be sprayed with water. By placing their chameleon drawing on the wet foil, students will transfer the ink, creating beautiful textures that mimic reptile skin. Finally, students will design a habitat or a simple background for their chameleon.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to sign up their child for either Group A or Group B depending on skill level and interest. In general, the Group A project is simpler and aimed toward children aged 6-7, while the Group B project is a bit more complex and is aimed toward children aged 8-12.

**Group A will meet 1:00 to 2:30 PM and Group B will meet 3:00 to 4:30 PM.**

If you have any questions about our monthly children’s art projects, please contact the Hutchinson Art Center via email at hac@hutchinsonartcenter.net or call at (620) 663-1081.
Register online here. Registration is limited to 15 children per class.
