MidTown Center

Daytime High School Program

The mission of MidTown Center is to provide real-world, relevant learning in a safe, smaller setting that is conducive for all students to achieve. We will empower students to work on a self-paced curriculum and earn credits in a competency-based program. Credits are earned when a student progresses through a course and are not based on seat time. Through this process, we strive to develop the whole student including citizenship, resiliency, character and college/career readiness. Social skills, employability skills, service learning opportunities, career exploration, and teen issues will also be emphasized to help with life’s issues that currently interfere with their education.

Many students may come for different reasons including:

  • One or more years behind age group in number of high school credits

  • Two or more years behind age group peers in academic achievement levels (math, reading, writing)

  • Habitually truant

  • Family problems/crisis situations

  • Social/emotional/medical concerns

  • Disciplinary or behavioral concerns
