USD 308's curriculum is aligned to meet state and national standards. The current curriculum system provides for both comprehensive and yearly reviews of curriculum. There is a Curriculum Council that oversees curriculum development through the content area task force and the development of Essentials in the five core content areas which include: reading, math, science, social studies, and writing. Curriculum Essentials are reviewed at least once a year. Curriculum mapping is being implemented at the secondary level and progressing at the elementary level. Instruction is based on best and researched practices and follows an instructional process.
Identified best practices initiated across the district include: Ruby Payne, Cooperative Learning, and Integrated Technology.
