Drama students from Hutchinson High School received the top award during the annual Kansas Thespian Conference last weekend in Wichita.
The HHS Thespian Troupe 2277 as a whole received the Gold Honor Troupe award for their work not only on shows, but community service and innovative projects throughout the year.
Additionally, junior Damarcus Myer was voted to represent the Kansas Thespians as a Student Thespian Officer for next year's conference. He is one of five students, chosen by Kansas theater teachers, from across the state of Kansas to help plan and implement the 2019 Thespian conference.
Senior Sage Williams auditioned in both acting and tech for colleges and was called back by multiple colleges.
Senior Alexandra Miller auditioned in tech for colleges and was called back by multiple colleges.
Williams, sophomore Josh Morris and junior Gabe Tash all performed Individual Events and received ratings of "excellent."
