Additionally, eight varsity players earned All-Academic awards for having 3.79 or higher GPAs. Of the eight, seven had 4.0 GPAs or higher.

Salthawks receiving All-Academic Awards were Micah Tomac, Brooke Ackley, Jessica Fairbanks, Anna Deal, Casey Mayes, Ally Lusk, Morgan Armbrust and Gabbie Posch. Tina Johnson was head coach of the HHS All-Academic Team in 2016-17.

“As a coach I couldn't be prouder,” Johnson said. “These are eight great young women who will go far. They are outstanding young women on and off the court who represent not only themselves but Hutchinson High School. I will truly miss these young ladies and the relationships I got to build with them. I have learned relationships will last a lifetime.”
