Student Showing Art
Student showing art in February 2018

In Hutchinson (and around the country) March is Youth Art Month. In USD 308, the district gets the celebration off to an early start with recognizing our elementary artists during the final Board of Education meeting in February.

Our elementary students will be honored during Monday’s Board meeting at 6 p.m. in the Administration Center. Students from each of the district’s elementary schools will be on hand with their teachers to show their artwork to the Board.

Elementary art teachers in USD 308 are Kylie Sampson, Terra Morgan, Dayna Ball and Meghan Dumler.

In addition to the Board presentation, USD 308 youth will be involved in several art activities. Through March 10, artwork from four USD 308 students will be in the Kansas Art Education Association show in the Alice Sabatini Gallery at the Topeka Public Library, 1515 SW 10th Ave. in Topeka.

District students with art in the Topeka show are:

  • Alexis Jones, third grader,
  • Destiny Allen, fourth grader,
  • Sebastian Drollinger, sixth grader, Graber Elementary School
